The title of this is a pretentious little joke dedicated to Alex because he really likes The Great Gatsby.
The idea of this song is that you can't make someone's head better just because you want them. Think of all the wild and interesting creatures that live in the darkness of the undergrowth, in the mud and the slime. Even daisies are technically weeds but we make necklaces from them.
This song was written together; like building a house, one of us brought the bricks and the other brought the mortar and we built this as a team. I think we can both agree this is one of our favourites off this EP.
lyrics
still smell you on my pillow case
can you taste me on your lips
your smile made flowers grow in the garden where weeds have been
but please remember
i’m a weed, yes i’m your daisy
and I'm your daisy
last night i dreamt about kissing you
I wonder if you want to kiss me too
your smile made flowers grow in the cracks of the pavement
but please remember
I’m a weed
Yes, I’m your daisy
And I'm your daisy
text me say your sheets smell
of my shampoo and sweat and sex
text me say you want me in your bed but your head'll have to do
so please remember
I’m a weed yes
i’m your daisy
I'm your daisy
and i'm nothing without context
I'll wrap around you like a vine.
so chain me and wear me round your neck
